April showers bring May flowers. Spring is here and our 2015-2016 school year will be ending soon. We will be enforcing the school dress code with the warmer weather. Please make sure that your student comes to school dressed according to the school dress code policy. If a student is in violation of proper uniform, he/she will be issued appropriate consequences. Please remember that only white socks should be worn. Knee-high socks are not allowed and only white, black or navy tights are allowed under skirts. Any non-uniform jackets or sweaters may not be worn in the classroom. No pull-over sweat-shirts or hoodies should be worn unless it has the WWE logo. I have included a copy of the school dress code policy that was sent home at the beginning of the year.
As we get closer to the end of the school year, it is our last opportunity to get our students academically motivated during this last nine weeks. Interim reports will go home on April 21st, please sit and review your child’s interim report and set some academic goals. Please reach out to your child’s teacher(s) to see if there is anything that you can do to help them at home to become academically successful. We want to continue to work to en-sure that all of our students are academically and socially successful.
The 4th nine weeks is vital to all of our students, especially our 3rd- 5th grade students. They will be taking the LEAP 2016 test. The Louisiana state testing is not promotional this year, but it is extremely important that all students do their best on this year’s test. Every minute of instruction is important. Please en-courage your child to come to school and stay focused. Currently, we have 5 school days be-fore testing. During testing week, please make sure your child reports to school on time, get a good night’s rest, and eats a good breakfast. LEAP 2016 will be administered on April 25th- 29th. We are confident that our students will SOAR like the EAGLES they are.
This year will have our first WWE Day. WWE day will be on Friday, May 20th. We are asking each grade level to donate different items. All Woodland West students will be allowed to participate this day of fun activities. You will receive your donation letters on April 21st along with the interim reports.
As always we thank you for your continued support.
