The 2018-2019 school year is off to a great start. The faculty, staff and administration worked very hard this summer to prepare for the school year. Many of our educational staff spent their summer attending professional development on implementing Tier 1 curriculum in every subject area. This shows our commitment to our core business: teaching and learning. Thank you to the families who attended our first events of the year: Meet and Greet, Pre-Kindergarten Orientation, Kindergarten Orientation, and Open House. Our incredible attendance at these events showed that we are all dedicated to helping our students. This year’s theme is “Know Thy Worth”. Developing relationships with our families is a great way to begin our year and is one of our priorities; by working together, we will be able to celebrate your child’s success. Success is achieved when our students reach or exceed the academic and social emotional goals set forth by themselves and us, their teachers and parents. Woodland West is committed to inspiring, engaging and preparing our students by encouraging creativity, developing character, building strong minds,
fostering kindness and promoting healthy bodies so they can become responsible citizens. Together we have a responsibility for ensuring that our students know that they are not average and they are striving for mastery. They are responsible for their own results and success. We have a daily commitment of striving for 85% or better on everything we do. We are determined to be their support team every step of the way. Open and honest communication are essential for continued growth and success. Parents, we encourage you to keep the lines of communication open with both your child and your child’s teachers. Should you have a problem that involves your child’s teachers, please contact them directly to try to come to a resolution. Ms. Fredericks and I also welcome your feedback and questions throughout the year as we work together to run an efficient and effective school. Please be sure to check your child’s Eagle Express communication folder daily for notes from the school. I am looking forward to a rewarding and productive school year. Working together we will make WWE a place where Every Student achieves Mastery and know their worth.
